About this discipline
This is a general education programme. Latin forms the core of this course. These classical courses (option mathematics and languages) put a strong emphasis on the study of grammar. They are very enriching in understanding the foundations of our civilisation, history and cultural heritage. In Latin classes, you study classical society and culture and read authentic texts by classical authors. The study of modern languages also takes up an important place. You develop communication skills (listening, reading, speaking and writing), reflect on the language and become acquainted with foreign literature.

STUDENT PROFILE
Classical languages is a course for students with a talent for languages and a very broad cultural interest. Studying Latin is not just about learning ancient languages, it also teaches you problem-solving skills. Moreover, it is a good exercise for learning modern foreign languages such as Spanish, French and Italian. After this course you can move on to college or university.
