About this discipline
This discipline is general. Latin forms the largest package in this discipline. These classical disciplines (option mathematics and languages) place a strong emphasis on the study of grammar. They are very enriching in understanding the foundations of our civilisation, our history, and our cultural heritage. In Latin classes, you study classical society and culture and read authentic texts by ancient authors. Classical languages is a course for students with a talent for languages and a very broad cultural interest. Studying Latin is not just about learning ancient languages, it also teaches you problem-solving skills. Moreover, it is a good exercise for learning modern foreign languages such as Spanish, French and Italian. This is a doorstroomrichting. This means that the training is aimed at further study in higher education and not at the labour market or employment at the age of 18.STUDENT PROFILE
