CURRICULUM

Below you may find the renewed curriculum of our school.

In our first grade, we focus on talent development and, in addition to a broad basic education, offer the space to explore, strengthen and deepen knowledge.
After the first degree, in which you get to know your own capabilities better, you can choose from a wide range of study areas.

The modernisation of secondary school started on September first 2021 in the second and third grades. The courses within ASO, TSO, BSO were transformed into “doorstroomrichtingen” (ASO), “richtingen dubbele finaliteit” (TSO) and “richtingen arbeidsmarktfinaliteit” (BSO). Within this modernisation, our school has opted for the courses that can be found in the overview below. The reforms will be implemented gradually, year by year.

ASO

Transfer finality

The courses of study almost exclusively comprise general subjects and they prepare you for higher education. It is therefore not the intention that you terminate your studies after the sixth year of ASO.

TSO

Double finality

The courses of study have both a general and a technical content. After TSO you can practice a profession or continue your studies in certain forms of higher education.

BSO

Labor market finality

You learn a profession here by doing. The emphasis is mainly on practical subjects. Many students subsequently follow a specialization year or start a job on the labor market.

OKAN

What is OKAN?

The reception classes for non-native speakers (OKAN) accommodate a colourful group of young people of different nationalities aged between 12 and 18. They have one thing in common: it is important for them to learn Dutch in order to be able to move on to regular education after one year.

Maatklas (transition classes for non-native speakers)
Education that matches the pupil’s level and talents. The pupils follow extra language lessons and directional lessons in a regular class. The pupils can choose between 4 clusters for the regular class:

  • Natural sciences
  • Economic Sciences
  • Business and organisation
  • Tourism

After a year in the Maatklas, pupils can start in the fourth year.
